US-based healthcare services company Cardinal Health has announced plans to expand its presence in speciality pharmaceutical services with a deal to purchase Healthcare Solutions with an up-front payment of US$517mn in cash. The definitive agreement also includes the chance for earn-out payments of up to US$150mn over the next three years.
