Reports have emerged that The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) is in talks to buy the North American operations of its largest bottler, Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE), with the tabled bid said to be worth close to US$15bn, including debt. The move would represent a shift in strategy for the firm and would follow in the footsteps of PepsiCo, which is in the process of consolidating its North American bottlers.
