Several of Peru's state-run companies could list shares on the Lima exchange as early as next year, according to government body FONAFE, the organisation charged with overseeing Peru's state-run firms. FONAFE official Evelyn Salazar stated that 'starting in January of next year, we will decide which companies will list on the stock exchange'. The list of possible sellers includes over 30 state-run companies in, among others, Peru's water, energy and transport sectors. Combined, these companies have annual revenues of over US$6bn, listing up to 20% stakes, with the option to sell more depending on investor interest.
