The initial public offering of Sohar Power Company (SPC) was 21 times oversubscribed making it the most successful power sector IPO in Oman to date. The listing, which was valued at a total of US$35mn, closed on July 30. The shares of the Omani power company will be listed on the Muscat Stock Exchange on August 18. SPC offered a total of 9,730,000 shares, 35% of the company's equity, for OMR1.35 (US$3.51).
