CDC, the UK Government-backed private equity fund-of-funds, continues to highlight opportunities in emerging markets. It has announced new commitments of US$290mn for investment in private equity funds in China and India. These funds, which bring CDC's commitments in China and India to date to US$640mn and US$1bn respectively, and are expected to raise a total of US$4.17bn for investment in the two countries. CDC Portfolio Director Brian Lim told CFW that 'a lot of these emerging markets are basically growth capital markets, with a little bit of buyout, where markets like China and India are starting to appear more and more
