Alstom, the French engineering company, has been awarded a US$530mn turnkey contract to construct a 400MW combined cycle power plant in Tunisia. The project marks further inroads into Tunisia for Alstom. The country is an attractive market for construction and engineering firms with expertise in power plant development as power demand is souring and new capacity is needed.
