Shares in Lehman Brothers fell further this week to a five-year low of US$27.50 on June 10 after they pre-announced Q208 losses of US$2.8bn. This was despite raising US$6bn in capital in an offering on June 9 widely seen as successful, raising 'a boatload of capital' according to CFO Erin Callan. The Q208 loss, blamed on US$3.7bn of write downs, has raised doubts about Lehman's capital levels, made worse by Lehman's apparent mixed message.
