CFW attended the First Capital Conference in London, hosted by the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) and the Cavendish Group. The conference hosted 150 Chinese delegates and explored the challenges and opportunities faced by Chinese companies hoping to achieve global growth through M&A. The panellists articulated a number of key themes: most importantly the discussion seemed to underline the assertion by vice president of Bao Steel Group, Ma Guoqiang, that at present 'Chinese companies are students of M&A'. However, as these companies learn the tricks of the trade, Chinese M&A activity looks set to grow as companies attempt to expand
