The largest steel-maker in the Americas, Gerdau Group, has entered into a strategic alliance with Corporación Centroamericana del Acero (CCA) in Central America. In the deal announced on April 21, Porto Alegre, Brazil-based Gerdau agreed to invest US$180mn in CCA's operations and now owns a 30% stake in the steel-maker.
