Warburg Pincus, a New York-based private equity group, announced April 22 that it raised US$15bn for its new global fund. The amount surpassed its plan to raise US$12bn for the fund, and nearly doubled the amount of its last global fund, which raised US$8bn, despite the ongoing credit squeeze.
