A deal which has been in the pipeline for months between India's Tata Motors and Ford was announced on March 26. Tata Motors will purchase the Jaguar and Land Rover brands from Ford for US$2.3bn, and when the deal closes Ford will pay around US$600mn into the brands' pension fund. Ford will also continue to supply Tata Motors with engines, metal stampings, engineering support and some parts.
