PepsiCo and the Pepsi Bottling Group (PBG) have agreed to purchase a 75.5% stake in the Russian juice producer Lebedyansky. The deal, worth US$1.4bn, will increase Pepsi's market share in the Russian drinks market from 2% to 30%. The 2% that Pepsi presently controls is through their brand Tropicana, but the company currently doesn't have juice-producing facilities in Russia.
