On March 14 Turkish holding company Global Yatirim, who bid along with local subsidiary Energaz, was announced as the winning bidder for Ankara's gas distribution grid. Yatirim offered US$1.61bn for the privatisation. The other bidders in the auction held by the Ankara municipality included Akfen Holding, Calik Enerji, Gaznaturel-Nural, Limak, Elektromed and Gas Natural.
