On March 6 Egypt's central bank announced that it had authorized five banks to conduct due diligence on state-owned bank, Banque du Caire, in preparation for the bank's privatisation. The banks are UK's Standard Chartered, Saudi Arabia's Samba Financial Group, National Bank of Greece, UAE's Mashreqbank, and a consortium of Jordan-based Arab Bank Group and Saudi Arabia's Arab National Bank.
