Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko removed the 'golden share' law by presidential decree on March 4. The law allowed the state to maintain influence over privatised firms. The abolition of the law will likely attract more foreign interest in the state, despite the president's reluctance to undertake large economic reforms.
