Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines could announce a merger in the next few weeks. Northwest CEO, Doug Steenland, told employees on February 6 that consolidation is "highly likely." Richard Anderson, Delta's CEO, said on February 8 that they will go ahead with mergers that meet the company's goals and create job security. Both airlines have shared details of the proposed merger with their respective pilot unions.
