Australian brewing giant Lion Nathan has dropped its ambitious AUD7.6bn (US$4.97bn) takeover bid for compatriot soft drinks market leader Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA). Termination of talks is thought to hinge on CCA shareholder and brand parent The Coca-Cola Company's (TCCC) concerns over further engagement with the alcoholic drinks
