Kosmos IPO Offers Exposure To Jubilee Potential But Risks Abound
January 2011 | IPO AnalysisPrivate-equity backed explorer Kosmos Energy, the holder of a major stake in Ghana's Jubilee field, announced on January 14 that it will offer up to US$500mn of its shares in an initial public offering (IPO) in New York. No details as to the size of the stake or the likely offer price for the shares were released in the preliminary prospectus filed by Kosmos with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which said the IPO will be underwritten by Credit Suisse, Citigroup and Barclays Capital.
