Private Equity Returns Outperforming Markets

As markets have reacted with uncertainty to the events of the last few months, private equity (PE) has become more attractive as an asset class to investors. Indeed, the ongoing unrest in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region coupled with the uncertainty surrounding the nuclear fallout in Japan have served to boost PE's standing on investors' radars. As such, PE is perceived to be less volatile than the public markets comparators at weathering the boom and bust cycles of the global economy.
