Western Balkans Investments Help Meet Italy's Power Demand

The construction of transmission infrastructure linking the Western Balkans to Italy is prompting a number of Italian companies to venture into the region's electricity sector. The aim is to set up power generation facilities in markets where there is the potential to develop excess electricity capacity and export power back to Italy. BMI has been following this trend which has proved to be the main source of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the region.
