Burundi To Privatise Onatel

Burundi plans to privatise state-owned telecoms company Onatel in 2011, reports regional weekly East African Business Week. After many false starts when trying to privatise the incumbent from early 2009, the Burundian government seems keen to complete the process after increasing competition from cash-rich alternative operators, particularly in the fast growing mobile market.
