OTE Sets Sights On Bigger Stake In Romtelecom

The Romanian government plans to sell its 46% stake in fixed-line incumbent Romtelecom, and has informed Greek telecoms operator OTE, which holds 54% of the company. BMI's telecoms desk expects Deutsche Telekom-backed OTE to show keen interest in the government's minority stake in Romtelecom, valued at about EUR300mn.
