Part-privatisation Of mCel And New Operator Could Spur Growth And Investment

The Mozambican government is considering the partial privatisation its wholly owned incumbent operator Moçambique Celular (mCel). It is also reviewing bids from three shortlisted companies for a third mobile licence in the country. CFW believes the Mozambican mobile market is in need of more private participation in mCel, as well as more competition, to drive growth and investment.
