Grupo México Makes Tactical Investment In Airports Operator

Mining and rail freight transport company Grupo México took the first step in its strategy of expanding into the infrastructure sector, through an equity investment in state-owned airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP). Although Grupo México is moving into the infrastructure sector in order to offset the volatility in the mining sector we reiterate our concern (first expressed when Grupo México announced its venture into infrastructure) that the concessions market, especially airports, could prove equally volatile for the company.
