Consolidation In Cable Market Supports CFW's View
June 2010 | Corporate Financing AnalysisRomanian cable and direct-to-home (DTH) operator Digital Cable Systems (DCS) has confirmed that it plans to buy a number of smaller cable companies. Meanwhile, in the Czech Republic in June 2010, private equity group BKS Capital Partners merged the six cable companies - Telto, HBTV, Amos, Sater, RTV-5 and KTVM - it acquired in the first half of the year into a single entity named Nej-TV. These activities support CFW's view that the European cable market will see increased consolidation, with large operators gaining scale through the acquisition of smaller regional operators.
