Near-Term Strength, Medium-Term Concerns For Global M&A

Despite strengthening headwinds, global M&A appears to have stabilised in H110, according to Thomson Reuters data. Indeed, worldwide M&A totaled US$976bn in the first half, on a par with the total value of deals in H109: US$977bn. And despite BMI 's expectation of a global slowdown in growth and of a broader macroeconomic deterioration concerning dealmakers over the medium term, the outlook for M&A is showing signs of strength in the near-term.
