Some Telcos Expect Much More Consolidation

The big players in Middle East telecoms will apparently see more consolidation on the way, according to a report on ITP.net. At the Arab Advisors Convergence Conference, key personnel from the Middle East's biggest telecoms groups met to discuss the future of the industry in the region, and the potential for large-scale regional consolidation was high on the agenda, it seems. Saad al-Barak, former CEO of Zain Group and current CEO of Zain Saudi Arabia, was a particular proponent. BMI is more sceptical.
