After weeks of bearish sentiment that has muted 2010's M&A rebound, are we finally starting to see some positive indicators for dealmakers once again? Indeed, this week saw: a) the return of M&A to the FTSE100, with with News Corp. 's US$11.5bn approach for blue chip firm BSkyB ; b) a subsidence in risk aversion, with the CBOE VIX volatility index falling by 22.1% in the space of a week; and c) the release of figures showing a strong uptick in PE activity.
