Japan's Astellas Acquires OSI Pharmaceuticals

Japanese pharmaceutical company Astellas has agreed to buy US-based OSI Pharmaceuticals for US$4bn in cash. Astellas offered US$57.50 per share, which represents a premium of 55% on the closing price of OSI's shares - US$37.02 on February 26 2010 - the day before the announcement of Astellas's tender offer.
