Endo Acquires HealthTronics

Endo Pharmaceuticals is to buy urological products and services firm HealthTronics for US$223mn. The US drugmaker will also assume approximately US$35mn in debt. Endo also revealed that it has acquired the right to negotiate the purchase of Medical Enterprises Group, a firm involved in making minimally-invasive therapies to treat non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. The deal will give HealthTronics shareholders US$4.85 for each share.
