Good news for the private equity (PE) industry: leveraged buyouts are on their way back. It is one of our core views that PE is set to return to its leveraged buyout (LBO) origins, and as the wider uptick in sponsor-backed deal making continues, this view seems to be becoming increasingly pertinent. In the year-to-date (y-t-d), global PE-backed M&A has more than doubled year-on-year (y-o-y).
