Club Deal Or No Deal: PE Firms Begin To Team-Up Once Again

Prior to the financial downturn, so-called 'club deals', in which buyout firms team up with one another to make large-scale acquisitions, were celebrated by private equity (PE ) firms as an indicator of the strength of the industry. However, when cheap and easily accessible credit dried up, the trend for PE firms to club together faded along with it. Now after over two years in hibernation, club-deals are making a comeback, but it seems out of necessity rather than choice.
