Coca-Cola Nidan Game Changing Deal Could Be Held Up
April 2010 | M&A AnalysisThe Coca-Cola Company (TCCC)'s game changing deal to acquire Nidan, Russia's fourth largest fruit juice company by market share, for about US$500mn could be delayed by a regulatory bottleneck centred around Nidan being in a strategic investment area. However, the holdup is not expected to terminally affect the deal with closure still expected by year-end 2010. CFW believes that an outcome in TCCC's favour would have a transformative impact on Russia's fruit juice industry, with the company leapfrogging PepsiCo to lead by market share.
