Aureos Ignores Emerging Market PE Fundraising Collapse

To say that Sub-Saharan Africa has not weathered well the private equity storm of 2009 is an understatement. According to the 2009 Emerging Market Private Equity Association report, 2009 saw a 55% y-o-y decrease in new commitments to the region to US$1bn (although this was slightly less than the 66% y-o-y decline in the funds raised by private equity funds for emerging markets as a whole, which fell to US$22.6bn).
