SABMiller Acquires Bottled Water Market Leader

SABMiller has acquired Uganda's market leading bottler water manufacturer Rwenzori Bottled Water Limited as part of a wider group strategy to strengthen its non-alcoholic portfolio regionally. With annual sales revenue of about US$18mn and with bottled water consumption in Uganda expected to strengthen markedly over the coming years as disposable income gains drive up consumption, CFW agrees with the decision and timing of the deal. Like the rest of the East Africa region, access to safe drinking water in Uganda outside of bottled water is at best limited.
