Consortium Acquires Kyrgyzstan's Fixed Line Incumbent

According to local news agency AKIpress, a consortium of four investors has won a tender for the government's 78% stake in Kyrgyzstan's state-owned incumbent telecoms company, Kyrgyztelecom (KT). BMI had expected a new round of investment in the country's fixed network infrastructure, to reflect greater liberalisation in the market following Kyrgyzstan's entry to the WTO.
