US Cornerstone Investors Drawn To Rusal IPO

Until now, it looked like no one other than Russian state banks would be willing to become involved in the Hong Kong IPO of Russian aluminium producer Rusal. Well, the doomsayers were wrong: US private equity fund Blackrock is reportedly planning to buy shares, as is Paulson & Co, the New York hedge fund run by billionaire John Paulson, and Nathaniel Rothschild private investment. Robert Kuok Hock Nien, who is one of southeast Asia's richest men, has also signalled his interest.
