With still more catching-up to do, it seems that Africa is the next continent stepping up to the plate. At a time when CFW expects the corporate bond boom to fizzle out in the West, the coming to life of the African market opens up the next frontier in corporate bonds. After recent issues by companies in Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania and Egypt, Nigerian companies are expected to issue more than US$10bn over the coming months. So far, only financials have gone to market, namely Guaranty Trust
