Data Centre Turf Wars Herald Consolidation
October 2009 | M&A AnalysisThe corporate data centre market is currently experiencing demand growth outpacing supply growth by almost a multiple of three, as far as data centre capacity in the US is concerned. Demand for commercial data centres is forecast to rise by 13% this year, while commercial data centre capacity is set to rise by only as much as 5%, according to data from Tier 1 Research. No doubt this continued growth has come as great news for key industry players, who have seemingly been attempting to help bridge this supply gap through a glut of M&A deals. Subsequently it has also heralded a wave of consolidation across the networking and IT provision space.
