PE-Backed Australian Retail IPOs In Window Of Opportunity

Australia has joined in the Asian IPO frenzy seen in recent weeks, which has come on the back of a recovery in equity markets and wider expectations of economic recovery. Retail firms are rushing to market, in order to take advantage of a rally in the local benchmark S&P/ASX 200 share index, which climbed 51% from its nadir, to reach an 13-month high on October 15. However, the window for PE-backed retail IPOs looks to soon be closing. Strong headwinds are set to face consumers over the next twelve months, and the market is going to have to digest a lot of new listings.
