Dealogic data shows that in the twelve month period from Lehman's bankruptcy filing on September 15 2008, global announced M&A stood at US$2.2trn, down 39% on the previous twelve month period's US$3.6trn. On the bright side, those companies which were brave enough to make acquisitions in the months after the Lehman collapse were rewarded in terms of market valuation.
