KKR Dollar General IPO: Setting The Stage For KKR's Own Listing

Why is everyone talking about KKR 's plans for a Dollar General IPO? In itself, it is of minor relevance. OK, this is good news in a moribund IPO market, especially as a solid Q2 corporate earnings season is also expected to give a boost to the IPO tap in Q4. The current 180 day SEC Registered IPO backlog stands at 27 deals expecting to raise US$9.5bn, the highest since January 2009, when 46 deals were expected to raise US$11.9bn. A successful Dollar General IPO could cause some of the backlog to clear.
