BNS Targets EM Banking Sector Growth

The news that Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) is among those that are interested in acquiring nearly half of Thailand's Siam City Bank, is in line with its international M&A trend. The Canadian bank has continued its strong record of M&A aimed at beefing up the international businesses that continues to boost profits this year with the acquisitions of the Cayman Islands based asset management firm Five Continents Financial and a stake in Thailand's Thanachart Bank.
