Canada's IPO Market Hotting Up

The Canadian IPO market appears to be in the recovery mode, with two offerings having closed on July 7, and a third set to be completed by July 9. Genworth MI Canada, a private home insurer, kicked off the action, raising CAD850mn (US$729). This was the largest amount seen in Canada since Franco-Nevada garnered CAD1.3bn in a 2007 offering. Clearly, IPO activity seems to be picking up after a long, dry spell.
