Sun Gets Left Out In The Cold
April 2009 | In The NewsThe reported breakdown in deal talks between IT behemoth International Business Machines (IBM) and beleaguered server maker Sun Microsystems is bad news for Sun, which has seen its share price fall 70% in the last year alone while its server sales are under increasing pressure as worldwide server demand fell 14% in Q408, according to research firm IDC. Furthermore, the failure to secure the deal comes as another example of the difficulty of getting large-cap deals done in the current climate and casts doubt on Sun's ability to secure a favourable deal with a potential.
