Morgan Stanley/MUFJ Tie-Up May Prove Tricky

March 26 saw Morgan Stanley and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFJ) announced plans to merge their Japanese brokerage units into a single entity. MUFG will hold a controlling 60% stake of the, as yet unnamed, new securities company, with Morgan Stanley owning the remainder, and the deal certainly has the potential to benefit both sides.
