Acquisitions Ahead For South African Telco's

Many observers of the African telecoms industry are expecting to see a significant amount of consolidation this year, and the South African market is no exception. Both Telkom - the fixed-line incumbent now almost divested of its stake in the country's leading mobile operator Vodacom - and third-ranked mobile operator Cell C have been identified as potential targets. CFW agrees that there is plenty of scope for consolidation, but also cautions that this can easily be overstated.
