New Investor Sought To Save Zamtel

The Zambian government has announced plans to part-privatise Zambia's incumbent operator, Zamtel, within the next few months. An evaluation of the company's assets and liabilities is due to be completed by Christmas, and the government is hoping to complete a tender process and have a new investor in place by April 2009.
