Vietnam's Banking Sector Offers Opportunity For Foreigners

CFW expects consolidation in Vietnam's banking sector in the new year and sees opportunities for foreign players to enter the growing market. Vietnamese banks are facing increasing risks as the real estate market continues to fall and non-performing loans increase, diminishing the value of their loan collateral. The sector is currently oversaturated, with close to 80 banks and the top 20 banks do the bulk of the business.
