Ashmore Gets Compensated, Calmer Times Ahead

The Bolivian government has signed a document agreeing to compensate US-based Ashmore Energy International for its 25% stake in the Transredes pipeline company that the government took over in June 2008. President Evo Morales nationalised Transredes after failing to agree a share transfer deal with its two biggest foreign shareholders, Ashmore and Royal Dutch Shell, which each held 25% stakes in the company.
